Development of gas and oil resources touches every sector of the state's economy, if not directly, then through the revenue generated by the industry and distributed by the state and federal government. According to the Gross State Product, the mining and minerals sector is the largest in the state's economy. Economic trends in Wyoming's Mineral Sector: Gas and Oil explores current trends in the industry with respect to their impacts on Wyoming's economy. Important issues behind these trends are outlined in order to provide a better understanding of gas and oil development's important economic role to the state.
