Description:
The alfalfa weevil is the most serious destructive insect of alfalfa grown for hay in the high and intermountain plains of the United State. Both larvae and adults feed on alfalfa, damaging stems, plant terminals, and leaves. This damage lowers crop tonnage and forage quality due to leaf tissue losses. Contains the life history of the weevil, some monitoring techniques and management.
