![]() | Forage Kochia: A Forage with Fall and Winter Grazing Potential | |
Publication #: B-1122.5 Publication Author(s): |
Description:
"With the havoc wrecked by drought and other factors on traditional forage sources for livestock, producers are being forced to look beyond pastures and hay to assure nutritional foodstuff for their animals. Many plant species have the potential to become livestock forage; however, the success of candidates for supplemental forage will depend on the amount of rainfall, the availability of irrigation, the type of soil, and the location that they are offered. Forage kochia ? a forage with fall and winter grazing potential provides Wyoming producers with information about how to grow nutritional forage kochia to add to the diet of their livestock."
