(pdf)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=M5v8TLKH2ds\">Video Tutorial\u2013How to Start Your Online Record Book (recorded video)<\/a><ul><li>This video was made by a Laramie County educator and has some information specific to Laramie county, be sure to check the Sweetwater County due dates and score sheets!<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1126 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wyoextension.org\/carboncounty\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Capture-232x300.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 343px) 100vw, 343px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wyoextension.org\/carboncounty\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Capture-232x300.png 232w, https:\/\/wyoextension.org\/carboncounty\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Capture.png 654w\" alt=\"Picture of How-To Guide\" width=\"343\" height=\"443\" \/><\/p><h3>WHEN ARE RECORD BOOKS DUE?<\/h3><p>2025\/2026 4-H Year: September 30th\u00a0 by 5pm<\/p><p>Print them off, organize them in an official 4-H Record Book cover or a nice three-ring binder, then hand it in to the Extension Office \u2013 Western Wyoming Community College Rooms #1336, #1339-1342 2500 College Drive A-700 Rock Springs, WY 82901-0428<\/p><h3>HOW ARE RECORD BOOKS JUDGED?<\/h3><p>Record Books are read by a judging panel of community members that awards points for leadership, community service, project learning, event participation, and growth from one year to the next.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><p><strong>Achievement Points<\/strong><\/p><p>Based on your record book judging score, you are awarded either a Gold or Silver Achievement.\u00a0Gold is worth 3 points, Silver is worth 2 points. Once you have accumulated 19 or more points over at least seven years in 4-H, you are inducted into the Wyoming 4-H Honor Club, given a pin and a bag, and awarded a $500 scholarship to attend a 4-H event of your choosing. It takes many years of dedicated work to achieve this and is something to be very proud of!<\/p><p><strong>Scoring<\/strong><\/p><p>Check out the score sheets for each age division, so you can be prepared for exactly what your record book is judged on and have the best possible chance of scoring well!<\/p><p>**SCORE SHEETS**<\/p><p><strong>Incentive to complete record books:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>We want to see our 4-H&#8217;ers complete great record books, and we have an incentive for doing so! If you get a Gold Achievement for a record book, you can attend the Gold Club party! For the 25\/26 year, the party will be&#8230;<\/p><h3>WHY DO WE HAVE RECORD BOOKS IN 4-H?<\/h3><p><em>\u201cWe do not learn from experience; we learn from reflecting on experience.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p>4-H Record Books serve a variety of purposes in the 4-H Program. While society has changed, the goals of teaching record-keeping to youth remain the same.<\/p><ul><li>4-H Record Books give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work. They document their skill development and their learning experiences in a written report. 4-H members measure their achievements and growth in their total years in 4-H.<\/li><li>4-H Record Books encourage members to set goals and develop plans to meet those goals. Completion of the Project Records awards 4-H members for participation in 4-H activities, which provides an incentive for participation, learning, and achievement.<\/li><li>Completing a 4-H Record Book is a process where 4-H members record project and club work. Records management (RM) is an industry-standard practice of identifying, creating, classifying, archiving and preserving records. The 4-H Record Book teaches 4-H members these skills through a standard format.<\/li><li>The 4-H Record Book is an excellent tool to use when applying for college, programs, jobs, and scholarships. It is REQUIRED to apply for a Sweetwater County 4-H scholarship.<\/li><\/ul><p>4-H Record Books are an educational component of the 4-H Youth Development Program and is an excellent way to complete your 4-H project.
