Our Oct. 5 contest will be held in conjunction with the youth camp, but participation in camp is not required to compete.

The Oct. 5 contest is also the FIRST contest in our inaugural Youth Meat Judging Contest Series!
We’re excited to provide youth with opportunities to compete throughout the year, gain experience, and continue developing their meat judging skills. The series is open to youth nationwide and will include contests on:

March 24
April – date TBD
Whether you want to learn, practice, or compete, there’s a place for you with Wyoming Meat Judging. We’d love to see youth from Wyoming and across the country join us!

New Community, Vitality, and Health Educator – Lindsay Baker

The University of Wyoming Extension welcomes Lindsay Baker as a community vitality and health educator based in Sweetwater County.

Baker earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in organizational communication from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2014. She received her master’s degree in leadership and human resource development from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2019.

Since 2017, Baker has worked for the LSU AgCenter, which is the hub of the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. For five years, she has served as assistant to the director of Louisiana’s southeast region, helping provide strategic leadership for 16 county offices and three research stations across the state.

In this role, she directly assisted with program development and evaluation; managed budgets and financial reporting; and coordinated hiring and training initiatives. She regularly collaborated with other extension agents, faculty, staff, community leaders, and government partners.

Baker is passionate about extension education and community development. “I value teamwork, relationship-building, and lifelong learning, and I am truly excited for the opportunity to serve Sweetwater County and the state of Wyoming by listening to the community’s needs and then supporting them through leadership development, financial literacy, workforce readiness, and community planning initiatives,” she says.

New 4-H/Youth Development Educator- Chloe Willenborg

Chloe Willenborg is the new 4-H youth development educator working in the University of Wyoming Extension’s Sweetwater County Office.

Willenborg received her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Colorado State University in 2022 and earned a graduate certificate in teaching from UW in May 2026.

Willenborg has extensive experience in supporting positive youth development. Most recently, she worked as a substitute teacher in both Sweetwater County school districts. She also worked as a seventh and eighth grade science teacher in Newnan, Georgia, for two years. As a teacher, she planned curricula, created a supportive learning environment and helped students apply their knowledge to real-world questions.

In 2023, Willenborg worked as a 4-H program assistant in Fayette County, Georgia. In this role, she collaborated with volunteers and community partners; led a 4-H club for homeschooled students; and supported field trips, camps and other events. She also developed new programming focused on science and agriculture, including an agriculture club and a dairy judging team.

Willenborg’s involvement with 4-H started in her childhood. As a youth, she participated in 4-H and FFA in Missouri City, Texas, focusing on livestock projects and leadership.

“I am especially drawn to this role because of its focus on community engagement and its connection to agricultural and rural communities,” Willenborg said. “I am excited to contribute to Sweetwater County by building strong relationships with youth, families, volunteers and community partners while continuing to grow and strengthen 4-H programming.”
